Halloween: The Game Single-Player Story Guide
Choose The Night He Came Home from the single-player story entry if you want to learn Michael’s side alone. The official launch material confirms six chapters, optional challenges, collectibles, multiple difficulty options, and endings shaped by your actions.
Start here
- Open the single-player story entry, The Night He Came Home, rather than online matchmaking.
- Select a difficulty that lets you learn the sandbox; use replayed chapters for optional challenges and collectibles.
- Follow the core objective first, then return for secondary challenges once you know the chapter’s exits and encounter spaces.
- Record which actions change the ending and keep spoiler details separate from your first clear.
What the story mode contains
The official story reveal describes six chapters beginning with Michael’s escape from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium and leading toward the final babysitter encounter with Laurie Strode. Dr. Samuel J. Loomis narrates the findings and the aftermath.
Each chapter has fixed core objectives, but the sandbox lets you choose how to execute them. That is why the story is useful practice for multiplayer without being a bot-filled copy of a 1v4 match.
Completion route
For a first clear, complete the main objective and learn the chapter’s safe movement spaces before chasing every collectible. The official progression page says optional challenges and collectibles unlock lore, executions, gameplay scenarios, and multiplayer cosmetics.
Replay a completed chapter at a higher difficulty when you know where the next objective begins. Do not assume a collectible route from one difficulty or chapter transfers unchanged to another.
Characters and multiplayer connection
The story uses familiar film locations and a new cast of Haddonfield civilians. The official character announcement confirms ten playable Civilians in the Standard Edition: Jennifer, Tanya, Rachel, Eric, Marcus, Thomas, Bob, Lynda, Annie, and Laurie; Deluxe adds Richard and Alexis.
Story unlocks can feed back into multiplayer cosmetics and scenarios, but the story’s objective completion and online match win conditions remain separate systems.

Difficulty and endings
Several difficulty options and multiple endings are confirmed. For a spoiler-safe first run, finish the chapter objective without looking up ending triggers; then use a second run to test optional actions and challenges.
This page deliberately avoids inventing a chapter-by-chapter ending checklist until the trigger conditions can be reproduced in the current launch build.
