Getting started
Halloween: The Game Beginner Guide
Start by reading the objective banner and treating the neighborhood as your task list. Heroes should find and convince residents, collect a weapon or key item, and open a safe escape. Michael should use Killer Sense and Stalk to locate residents, build Bloodthirst, and finish the town before the team can organize.
Start here
- Read the objective and the map around your spawn before crossing the neighborhood.
- As a Hero, locate nearby residents and points of interest; as Michael, enter Killer Sense and pick an isolated target.
- Collect only the item that advances the next objective: weapons and distractions buy time, while key items open escape routes.
- Keep a second route in mind. Escape locations and item spawns can change between matches, and starting an escape makes a lot of noise.
- When Michael or the police change the situation, abandon the old route and regroup at the safest known landmark.
Your first five minutes
Do not sprint toward the first exit marker. The opening is for information: identify nearby houses, residents, phones, containers, and a fallback street. The official multiplayer overview confirms that points of interest, lootable objects, hiding places, telephones, and possible escapes are spread through the map.
Make one decision at a time. A Hero should connect “resident found” to “safe place or police call”; Michael should connect “target found” to “stalk, execute, hide the evidence, and rotate.”

If you are a Hero
Split jobs without splitting the team into four solo players. One Hero scouts, one stays near the residents, one searches containers, and one watches the approach. Convince residents of the threat, escort them with a clear route, and spend weapons to create space rather than to duel Michael.
The completion signal is a live escape plan: the team knows which residents are being moved, which item opens the route, and where the fallback is. If an escape starts and Michael arrives, stop interacting, break line of sight, and move to the backup instead of finishing a loud sequence in place.
If you are Michael Myers
Use Killer Sense to find a resident, hold Stalk from cover, and wait for a clean approach. Shape Jump only works from darkness or outside a resident’s line of sight, so lights and sightlines are part of your route. Shape Dash is the short burst for the last few feet of a fleeing target.
After a down or execution, rotate immediately. Heroes can use weapons to buy time, and the official rules make clear that the Boogeyman cannot be killed. Your advantage comes from making the next rescue or escape expensive, not from standing over one fight.
Common first-match mistakes
A Hero who carries four weapons but never checks a resident has delayed the win condition. A team that starts an escape with no fallback has announced its position. Michael who chases one Hero across the whole map has given the rest of the town time to prepare.
If the game behaved incorrectly during Advance Access, install the current update first. Hotfix 1 fixed challenge tracking, offline login queueing, and a missing get-up prompt after Michael was downed.
